Breakout Boost + review. Classic Game Room reviews BREAKOUT BOOST + for iPad from Atari. Often copied, never duplicated, Breakout and Super Breakout for the Atari 2600 remain some of the most memorable releases for the venerable Atari 2600 VCS that played smoothly with the Atari paddle controllers. Atari tries to recapture this amazing experience with Breakout Boost Plus on the iPad where players move the curser (or paddle) around the screen with their finger and bounce the ball off blocks to break the bricks and score points! Earn power ups and weapons a-la Arkanoid-style and increase the speed for more points, Breakout Boost + succeeds with solid gameplay reminiscent of its 1980′s older siblings. Solid controls, great visuals and a solid, retro throwback feel… it’s BREAKOUT BOOST + but… where’s the Astronaut on the game cartridge?

After spending several days with the new iPad, there’s a lot we love (and hate) about it. In terms of the thing we hate: the screen, white ultra sharp, is warmer than the iPad 2, isn’t as bright, and doesn’t have the incredible viewing angles of its predessor. Something else we don’t like much about the new iPad is how long it takes to charge: about 7 hours to go from 0% to 100%. Finally, the size and weight of the new iPad makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold in long reading sessions. What do we love? That display! It’s unlike anything we’ve seen, and is most reminiscent of a printed magazine page. We also love the LTE, which provides faster-than-WiFi speeds wherever you are.
